Route finalised: all systems go for the resumption and well done Geraint Thomas!
Having thoroughly enjoyed 10 days of rest, a couple of trips to the brilliant World Cup hockey and Izzy having spent six days on a saddle of a different kind, we are ready for the resumption of the Grand Tour. During this time we've also heavily amended the route, so we now go through Edinburgh, skirt around the Forest of Bowland and travel to the North of Dartmoor. The average mileage for each day has come down to just under 45 miles, which Izzy proved she was more than capable of during the time in the Highlands.
The Tour de France has also been a major focus over the last two weeks and it was brilliant to see Geraint Thomas hold firm in the Pyranees and win in Paris. Realising that, in one day in the mountains, they climbed the equivalent of what we did over six days in the Highlands is somewhat humbling!
