Izzy's Grand Tour
John O'Groats to Land's End - Summer 2018
For the last three years I have dreamed of cycling the entire length of the United Kingdom to raise money for cancer and animal welfare charities. Despite the best efforts of people to put me off, I am determined....
Oh, and I wanted to do it before my 13th birthday!
Therefore, on July 15, 2018, I will be setting off from John O'Groats, with my dad, to try to complete over 1,000 miles of cycling. This site will give you details of our route, a blog so that we can keep friends and family updated with the training and the cycle and, most importantly, details of the two charities that I have chosen to support with my ride: The Teenage Cancer Trust and Ferne Animal Sanctuary and the charity that my Dad has decided to ride for: Young Minds.
We are aiming to raise at least £5,000
Along the way, we are being supported by my lovely mum, Heidi and my various grandparents, driving a support vehicle and meeting us at regular intervals with top-ups of water and food. Heidi will cycle with us at times too. Uncle Nick is joining us for five days of cycling and my wonderful sister, Martha, will be cycling sections in the South West and, possibly, Scotland.
The trip itself has been solely organised and financed by us. All money raised will go directly to the three charities that we have chosen to support. Thank you for your support in our challenge.
